Kantha Fringed Jacket

How cool is this! Our kantha fringed jacket is made from a traditional form of embroidery from eastern India, particularly popular in West Bengal and Odisha. Made by carefully stitching together layers of old saris or other garments, the result is a lot like a quilt. A centuries-old craft, it showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Bengali people. This lovely boxy cotton jacket is a feast of colour, the perfect festival jacket, and we have all sorts of colour-ways to choose from. Perfect with all of our hippy trousers, skirts and dungarees!

Colour patterns and patches will vary and as such due to the upcycled nature of this garment, small imperfections will exist. Yours will be unique. 

They are crafted from recycled cotton saris, which gives each piece a character of its own. You may see some small patches incorporated into the flow of the garment, these should not be considered flaws but rather a distinctive feature of the fabric. They represent the part of the journey that this fabric has already completed, a connection to the past and a renewal of its purpose.
