What to wear to a festival this year

Festival season is fast approaching - let the glitter flow and the funky music commence!

You’re sure to see hundreds of people in flower crowns and fringe jackets, but why not try something different? Ditch the main trends and go full hippy. After all, isn’t a festival the perfect time to release your inner hippy?

Take a look at our must-haves for the festival season this year.

A Warm Jacket

If you’re going to a UK festival, chances are it’s going to rain. Glastonbury wouldn’t be Glastonbury if it didn’t chuck it down at some point! So make sure to take a poncho to keep you dry (and don’t forget to pack your wellies). Remember to take a warm jacket or hoodie for the chilly nights - even in Summer, the English weather is often not kind to us. You can shop jackets and hoodies here.

A Lightweight Cover-Up

You need something for those days where it’s not freezing but you could do with a bit of extra warmth. That’s where a light cover up comes in handy. Chuck on a light poncho or kaftan for a fun, comfy look. Perfect for dancing and walking around all day, is perfect for a festival vibe that won’t weigh you down and keeps you looking boho chic.

Harem Pants

Harem pants are a must to keep you cosy when you’re lounging around your tent with your friends. They’re light and won’t take up too much space in your bag. We have them in loads of colours and patterns so you can find the perfect pair for you. They’re great for keeping you warm at night when the temperature is sure to drop, but they’re not so heavy that they’ll make you too hot during those nice summer days. Let’s face it, you can never go wrong with a good pair of harem pants.

A Skirt

A stunning skirt is essential for any summer festival - whether it’s abroad or in the UK. They’ll keep you breezy and chilled during the days and give you the freedom to unleash your killer dance moves with no restrictions. You can be free to flail your limbs as much as you want. Denim skirts are what you will see most people wearing, but try these alternatives. Bring a bright patterned skirt into your life and shop colourful skirts here. Be different, be bold!

Pinafore Dress

Make sure you pack a funky pinafore dress - festivals are a place you can dress colourful, in the craziest patterns you want and no one bats an eyelid. Dungaree mini dresses are great because not only do they give you freedom to dance as wild as you’d like, they look amazing too. Show off your vibrant colours and just slip it on in the morning. It’s hassle-free - you’re up and ready to go. Simply style with a little white crop top underneath. And if you get cold, all you have to do is slide a pair of tights on! Click here to shop dresses.

Cami Tops

Cami tops are great for festivals. They don't take up too much room in your bag, they're not too heavy and they're comfortable to wear throughout the day and night. Pair a colourful cami with harems or a skirt and you've got yourself the perfect festival outfit.

A Small Backpack

An mini backpack is a festival essential. Perfect for when you need to carry more than your wallet and phone around but don't want to lug around a huge bag, a mini backpack is light and easy to transport. Chuck in your hoodie and you're ready to go straight from day to night. They're the perfect size for carrying around everything you'll need for the day without getting in the way.

Funky accessories

What better time to rock a funky hat or bandana than at a festival? Use it to keep your hair out of your face and add another element to your outfit to wow the crowds. Comfy and stylish, you can't go wrong with a gorgeous piece of head gear.

So make sure you’re prepared for the festival season and be sure to grab all of your essentials in time!
